Connection

The film highlights the comfort of isolation in modern life, Noor like most of us prefers talking and living her life through her phone rather than actually talking to the person standing next to us

Why Connection?

This story is based in 2019, in a time when the world is built on apps and technology. A time with AI, Ubers and scooters and electric cars AND Social media. It has become a huge part of our reality, half our world, our loved ones, are homes are on it. It’s the only constant when you move worlds over. We spend our time with technology mostly.

As an observer, a filmmaker, I can’t help and be overwhelmed by the amount of technology has changed the nature of our relationships, we are more comfortable with isolation now, because we’re not really alone even then, we have our Instagram, and WhatsApp, and Netflix. We choose to spend time in that reality over people around us constantly. Which is fine, which has a lot of positives too, makes life more bearable, moving across the world easier. But this lifestyle is also adversely affecting our mental health. This film is just a reminder, to look up from our phones, maybe we’ll find a much-needed unexplored friend sitting right next to us.
